A Colleton County man has been charged with multiple of attempted murder for a shooting he allegedly committed on Sunday, Nov. 28th.

Brandon Vernon Johnson was arrested on Dec. 1st and is charged with five counts of attempted murder and one count of malicious injury to personal property.

The shooting occurred at about 11:45 p.m. at 116 Head Lane, near Honey Court in Walterboro.

During the shooting, a Colleton County woman was struck by two pellets: she was hit in her leg and in her hand and was treated at the scene. She was later taken to Colleton Medical Center for treatment, according to Colleton County Fire-Rescue Director Barry McRoy.

The woman’s identity is being withheld because she is a crime victim.

Johnson is charged with five counts of attempted murder because there were five people present at the shooting, according to Colleton County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Shalane Lowes.

Lowes said this is still an ongoing investigation, so additional details are limited.
