In His Name-Colleton held its quarterly community meeting on July 22nd. Amanda Herndon, Director of In His Name-Colleton, presented the impact report for the first half of 2024. The program has assisted 319 individuals, served 3000 meals and provided housing for 10 men and 4 females in their transitional housing program. Herndon stated that the program is on track to double the impact from last year.

Another highlight of the meeting was an update on the Community Thrift Store that opened at 603 S. Jefferies Blvd. The store is open to the public Monday thru Saturdays from 9am until 2pm and is taking donations including large household furniture.

Other exciting accomplishments for the organization are the outreach events that include free laundry days and weekly meal feedings. The organization also received a truck donated by a local business and successfully reached its goal for the building fund.

In is Name-Colleton always needs donations of hygiene products as well as nonperishable food donations. In addition, volunteers are also needed for the office, thrift store. Mentors/sponsors are needed for the housing program.

The organizations is currently located at 214 Wichman Street and is hoping to expand to a larger building in the near future. Office hours are Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9am until 12pm.
