A West Virginia woman was severely injured in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 95 near the northbound 67-mile marker. The woman’s Nissan Murano collided with a minivan then left the roadway, went down an embankment, and struck several trees. The Nissan sustained heavy damage trapping the woman in the wreckage. The two adults in the minivan were not injured. Colleton County Firefighter-Paramedics arrived and began treating the woman in the car, while others removed the driver’s door and cleared interior obstructions to extricate the victim. The CARE-Flight Helecopter responded and landed in the parking lot at the Circle C Truck Stop. She was flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Hospital in North Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
