I-95 Accident Injures One

A small car received heavy damage when it was struck in the rear by a semi-truck on I-95 near the 57 exit Tuesday, October 14th. A witness said that the car was traveling at a low speed with no taillights when it was hit by the truck. The car was pushed into the guardrail and spun around blocking one lane of traffic. Colleton County Firefighter-Paramedics found the driver unconscious in the vehicle. No medical helicopters could fly due to poor weather conditions. The driver of the car was treated at the scene, then transported to the Trauma Center at Trident Hospital in North Charleston. The truck driver was not injured. SC Hwy. Patrol is investigating the collision.
