A vehicle accident on January 21st occurred at the intersection of Hampton St and Widgeon Rd. The accident sent three people to area hospitals and blocked traffic on Hampton Street for 40 minutes. The accident occurred when a pickup truck and a small car collided. The driver of the passenger car suffered multiple traumatic injuries. She was transported to the Trauma Center at the Medical University of South Carolina. Two occupants of the pickup truck were transported to Colleton Medical Center. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
