Three-sport Colleton County High School student-athlete Antawn Griffin, Jr. recently announced his decision to attend Georgia Knights Prep School in Snellville, Georgia, where he will continue his football career. Recruited at safety for the Knights, Griffin will pursue his two-year college degree in business management while continuing to play the game he loves.

Griffin, who has been playing football since he was 10-years old, received offers from Graceland University, Knox College and McPherson College.

A two-year varsity letterman at strong/free safety for Colleton County, Griffin is a valued member of the Cougar Basketball Program and the track and field team. Following his senior season, he was selected to the Blitz Border Bowl.

According to Griffin, his recruitment by the Knights began on Twitter.

“One day, the coaches reached out to me on Twitter and emailed me information about Georgia Knights Prep School,” said Griffin. “It felt like it was the right fit for me because by going there they will help me develop as a player and grow as a student. I hope to play a big role in the secondary this upcoming season.”

“I would like to thank my parents and friends for motivating me to keep pushing myself to get to this point in life,” said Griffin. “I would also like to thank Coach Mullins, Coach Singleton, Coach Peeler, Coach Howell, and Coach Bowers.”

Griffin is the son of Tameko Fishburne and Antawn Griffin, Sr. He maintains a 3.2 GPA at Colleton County High School.
