James Calvin Ferguson, II, 53, of Walterboro, entered into rest Tuesday, August 1, 2023. Born March 21, 1970, in Richmond, Virginia, he was a son of James Calvin Ferguson and the late Kathleen “Kitty” St. Clair Ferguson. He was of the Catholic faith. James also known as “Fergie” to his friends, loved boating and fishing. He enjoyed lighthouses, vintage cars and had a passion for traveling. He never met a stranger. Anyone who knew him knew that if you ever needed anything he would give it to you. James was also known to be outgoing, extremely loud and funny. He loved his family, was a devoted father, hard working and very independent. Surviving in addition to his father; his loving wife, Lella Lynn Young Ferguson; son, Dalton James Ferguson; daughters, Heather Nicole Varney, Mackenzie Lynn Ferguson (Chase), and Cassidy Anne Ferguson; brothers, Daniel Brice Ferguson of Atlanta and Matthew Brett Ferguson of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Addison LeeAnn Varney, Kayden Joshua Stallings and River Lee Hand; and step-mother, Alice Shough Ferguson. He also leaves behind his furry bestfriend an English bulldog, BeBe. He was preceded in death by his; grandparents, Buford and Arlene Ferguson and James Matthew and Mary St. Clair; mother, Kathleen St. Clair Ferguson and brother, Randall Scott Ferguson. Funeral services will be held at a later date, at Mt. Hermon Church of the Brethren Church, 144 Mt. Hermon Church Road, Bassett, VA.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends for a time of visitation Saturday evening from 5 until 7 at The Brice W.
