Mrs. Susan Ann Wells Evans, 79, of Walterboro, entered into rest Saturday evening, September 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her residence. She was the loving wife of fifty-two years to the late Mr. Tillman Evans. Born December 17, 1945, in Colleton County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John Leo Wells and the late Hettie Carr Wells. Susan was a Licensed Practical Nurse, having worked for many years at the Beaufort Naval Hospital as well as for Dr. Erwin and Dr. Rodgers. She also worked in the respiratory department of the Colleton Regional Hospital. A lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Walterboro, she centered her life around her family whom she adored and always took great pleasure in providing for others and sharing a meal with anyone that she could. She loved her dogs and all of God’s beautiful creatures and often you could find her enjoying a good yard sale. She dearly loved the Great Smoky Mountains and spent so much of her time at her Tennessee mountain home. Surviving are: three children, Kevin Evans (Tammy), Brian Evans, and Gary Evans (Melissa) all of Walterboro; four grandchildren, Nicole Burroughs (Jonathan), Shannon Pruitt (Cody), Amanda Call (Dustin), and Abby Evans; five great grandchildren, Jackson, Norah, Josie, Madelyn, and Ellie; a sister, Ellen Wells Chambers of Sevierville; a niece, Angie Barnhart (Jon) and their sons, Daniel and Nathan; as well as a dear and extended family member, Martie Hooker (Erwin). Funeral services were held 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, October 1, 2025, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Walterboro. The Reverend David Jackson and The Reverend Danny Zorn officiated. Fisk, Ricky Brice Herndon Funeral Chapels and Crematory EDISTO ISLAND – Mr. Richard Eugene Fisk, known by all as “Ricky”, age 61, of Edisto Island, entered into rest Saturday morning, September 27, 2025, at Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston. Born November 3, 1963, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was the son of Mr. Walter Eugene “Buck” Fisk and the late Mrs. Mary Linda Thompkins Fisk. He co-owned West Bank Construction Company on Edisto Island, a site prep and land clearing company that he successfully operated alongside his brother for many years. To say that Ricky loved the outdoors is an understatement. He dearly loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a longtime girls softball coach with Lowcountry Leadership Charter School in Meggett, South Carolina. He will always be remembered as “PawPaw” to his beloved grandsons. Everyone that knew Ricky, also knew his faithful Boykin Spaniel companion and hunting buddy, “Eugene”, whom he dearly loved and adored. Surviving in addition to his father “Buck” and his wife Diane of Edisto Island are: his wife, Kathy Fisk; two daughters, Ashlynne Thomas and her husband Kevin of Ehrhardt and Abigail Fisk of Edisto Island; a sister, Pamela Bellknap and her husband Bruce of Saint Augustine, Florida; a brother, Kenneth Fisk and his wife Judith of Edisto Island; two grandchildren, Hutton and Bretton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Debbie Gorrell of Walterboro; a brother-in-law, Jeff Gorrell and his wife Jen; and a sister-in-law, Melissa L. Gorrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
