A unidentified man drowned at Edisto Beach July 3. The victim was pulled from the water by good samaritans who administered CPR to an unresponsive adult male. First responders from Edisto Beach Police Department continued resuscitation efforts until Colleton County Fire Rescue arrived. The victim ultimately did not survive despite the best efforts of fellow beach goers and first responder’s efforts. The drowning will be investigated by the Edisto Beach Department and the Colleton County Coroner’s Office.
