Driver ejected when truck leaves roadway

Saturday evening November 11, a west bound pickup truck traveling on McLeod Rd near Pleasant Grove Rd, left the roadway and struck several trees. The vehicle overturned and bystanders advised the driver was ejected. The impact uprooted one pine tree, and the truck struck a second pine tree causing heavy damage to the truck. Debris littered the roadway. The bystanders rendered aid to the male driver until Fire-Rescue units arrived. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the man’s multiple injuries, then transported him emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center. McLeod Road was closed for approximately one hour. No medical helicopters could fly due to poor weather conditions. The accident is being investigated by the SC Highway Patrol.
