In this week’s series about guarding against scams we will introduce
3 Ways to Defend Against Phone Scams. These three ways are:
1.Don’t fall for high pressure tactics.
2.Be suspicious of wire transfer or reloadable debit card payment requests.
3.When in doubt, hang up and follow up.
RED FLAG
Scammers have also been asking consumers to make payments with iTunes gift cards. Business and government organizations will not ask for payment this way.
