Deceased drowning victim at Edisto identified

The young woman who died after being rescued from the water at Edisto Beach June 5. The victim was identified as Liv Andersen, age twenty-six from Norway. Colleton County Coroner Richard Harvey was informed that Ms. Andersen was at the beach with a friend who was sunbathing. When the friend looked up, she could not see Andersen. She could not see Andersen and proceeded to the water where she found Andersen unresponsive. Resuscitation efforts were given prior to the arrival of first responders. Harvey said the results of the autopsy would be out Friday and would identify the cause of death. It is uncertain if Anderson hit her head before becoming unresponsive, and the autopsy would reveal if she had any injuries to her head or other bodily injuries that may have contributed to her death.
