Man shot in the mouth
A man went to the emergency room on July 1. He told police officers that he was at a local apartment complex when he heard what sounded like fireworks, then discovered he’d been shot in his mouth.
Officers are investigating.

A man with a knife
Witnesses called Walterboro Police on July 1 to report a suspect attempting to get a woman in a vehicle, allegedly with a knife.
The victim said they stopped at a fast food restaurant and she tried to flee, but the suspect followed her and made her get back into the car. Witnesses then intervened.
Officers asked the man if he had any weapons, and he reportedly produced a folding knife and a fixed-blade knife with a wooden handle. He told officers the victim was having a mental breakdown and he was trying to get her back into the vehicle.
The man was arrested, charged with kidnapping and second-degree domestic violence.

Property damaged
A Milestone Lane resident reported July 4 that someone pushed her washer and dryer off the porch and damaged a car. The vehicle had damage to both tail lights, multiple scratches, the driver’s side window, both rearview mirrors and damage from bird shot.

Locator stolen
A locator worth $27,000 was reported taken from a work truck parked at a Sniders Highway motel on July 2. Security footage shows a white two-door pickup pull up and a man in a bright pink shirt grab the locator and two coolers, get in the truck and drive away.
Walterboro police are investigating.

A face in the window
A Sarah Street man reported he was in his kitchen when he looked up and saw a black man in a white t-shirt looking back at him from the window. The man ran up Gloria Street.
Walterboro police patrolled the area but didn’t find the man.

Man walking in circles
A Walterboro Police officer on patrol on July 5 came upon a man walking in circles in the northbound lanes of Jefferies Boulevard. The officer also saw the man throw a beer bottle into the parking lot of a business.
The man was arrested for public intoxication.
