RUFFIN – Mrs. Rosalind Anne Cox, 80, of Ruffin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Born on Tuesday, November 13th, 1945, in Newbury, Berkshire, England.
In 1965, Rosalind made the journey to the United States as a serviceman’s wife. In 1972, she began dedicating herself wholeheartedly as a foster parent. Over the years, Rosalind welcomed more than three hundred children into her home, each one leaving a unique mark on her heart. Her love and commitment led her to adopt seven children. Rosalind was named Foster Parent of the Year on several occasions, a testament to her dedication and the profound impact she had on the lives she touched. Her home was a sanctuary of safety and love for all who entered.
She was a devoted homemaker and caregiver. A true testament to this was her unwavering love and commitment to her daughter Gracie Anne, whom for 19 years she cared for fiercely. She was also the founding owner of “Feathers and Fins,” a pet shop that had locations in Walterboro and Hampton.
Surviving are: nine children, Joseph Cox (Tresa), Anita Givens (Todd), Jacob Cox, Eliana Cox, Caleb John Cox, Asher Tony Cox, Gracie Anne Cox, Mandy Arriola (Jeremiah), and Jeremy Cox; a sister, Janet McCaw; and a host of extended family members to include grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rosalind was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-six years, Mr. Joe Cox and a son Thomas Cox.

A small memorial and visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.at The Brice W.
