Covid in Colleton County

Thursday Jan. 14: Colleton County officials have been notified of 1,942 total cases of COVID-19 in Colleton County with 358 current cases. 

These cases of COVID-19 are in the 29082, 29435, 29446, 29452, 29474, 29475, 29481, 29488, 29929 and 29945 zip codes. The zip code data for the state is available on DHEC’s COVID-19 webpage, specifically on the Testing & SC Data page, underneath the county map. This can be found by following the link below.

Unfortunately, there have been a total of 60 deaths in Colleton County related to COVID-19.

Colleton County residents are urged to follow the guidance of Governor Henry McMaster and the recommendations of the CDC. This information can be accessed at colletoncounty.org/coronavirus. 

Colleton County continues to follow the guidance issued by DHEC for the Phase 1A (frontline healthcare workers) vaccination rollout. Phase 1B will begin in the coming weeks. More information can be found by following the link below. https://scdhec.gov/covid19/covid-19-vaccine

Colleton Medical Center will not be vaccinating the general public at this time. Due to limited supplies, they will continue to prioritize the vaccination of healthcare workers within the community. SCDHEC has provided a map of vaccination sites as well as a link to make an appointment (scdhec.gov/vaxlocator).

Colleton County School District

The Colleton County School Board of Trustees voted unanimously, during a January 12 special board meeting, to extend virtual learning for Colleton County School District students by one week, due to the increase of COVID-19 cases in the Lowcountry region. All students will continue to learn virtually until January 22, and will not report to their schools. Information on changes to bus routes and meal delivery schedules will be released as soon as possible on the CCSD website (colleton.k12.sc.us), and through mass emails and phone dialers. All CCSD teachers and support staff will continue to report to their regular work locations during the virtual learning period.
