Cougar Baseball earns region win over Seahawks

The Colleton County Cougar Baseball team earned a 6-5 home win over Region VII-AAAA opponent Hilton Head High School on Monday, March 21st.

Colleton County continued the at-home winning in a non-region win over Westwood High School on Friday, March 26. Colleton County is currently 3-3 overall and 2-3 in Region VII-AAAA.

Colleton County clinched the lead in the fifth inning when an error scored the go-ahead run against Hilton Head. Gabe Wolfe earned the win on the mound, going five and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out two. Cam Farnsworth threw one and one-third innings in relief, recording the last four outs to earn the save.

Cohen Crosby tripled in the second inning to put Colleton County on the board. Warren Hunter and Grayson Cromer had multiple hits in the game. Palmer Thomas, Josh Caldwell, Dustin Hadwin, and Bruce Carpenter each recorded a hit.

Colleton County snatched the lead late in the game in the 4-3 victory over Westwood on Friday evening. Dakota Dandridge earned the win, surrendering three runs on four hits over five and a third innings, striking out three and walking one. Cam Farnsworth threw one and two-thirds innings in relief recording the last five outs to earn the save.

The game was tied at three in the bottom of the sixth when a wild pitch plated the go-ahead run for the Cougars. Dustin Hadwin and JC Poe had multiple hits for Colleton County. Carpenter, Cromer, Cohen Crosby, and Preston Breland each had a hit.

Colleton County was scheduled to host non-region opponent Westwood High School on March 28 before an away-home series against Goose Creek High School, beginning March 30.
