Vernon Gilbert caught up with Coach Greg Langdale before the Colleton
Preparatory Academy vs Dorchester Academy. The winner of the game would go onto the State Championship game. The last time CPA played against DA they lost 28-14 at home, which made this game even more adrenaline charged.
Coach Langdale expected a hard-fought game from each team and for both teams to come out and play with everything they had. “Both teams are known for playing hard nose football. Neither team is going to lay over and die tonight, so it’s going to be the team that wants it the most.” When asked about the loss to Dorchester Academy during regular season play, Coach Landale said the changes they made since then was to strengthen the team mind set. Coach Langdale also thanked the fans for their support and to everyone who has made the team successful: the fans, the ball boys, the water girls, the cheerleaders, and more.
The stronger mindset strategy worked. November 14 the Colleton Preparatory Warhawks defeated the Dorchester Academy Raiders 22-16 to secure their place in the State Championship game. Congratulations Warhawks on your advancement to State.
