Day one of the full scale exercises is in the books, and #yourColletonFirefighters knocked it out of the park! The Hazardous Material Response drill was held at West Bank Landing. The scenario was based around an active chlorine release from a leaking valve on a railroad tank car. The remote area required the use of boats to recon the part of the track that cross the Edisto River. Some of the exercise objectives that firefighters faced were: chemical identification, plume modeling, leak mitigation and technical decontamination of responders.
