CERT TEAM Completes Training

Colleton County Fire-Rescue’s Community Emergency Response Team’s (CERT) certified members completed the 20 hour CERT Basic Training Course and passed both a cognitive and psychomotor exam on November 2nd. Chief Barry McRoy stated, “Fire-Rescue is proud of their dedication to the program and we look forward to watching them further their education to better serve the community.”

CERT is part of Fire-Rescue’s Emergency Management Division and consists of volunteer personnel that are trained in disaster preparedness and basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Through CERT, Colleton County Fire-Rescue’s capabilities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters are enhanced.
