CCHS volleyball falls to May River and Bluffton

The Colleton County Volleyball team dropped two games last week to May River and Bluffton High School . With these two defeats, the Cougars record fell to 6-5 overall and 0-4 in region play.

The Cougars lost the game against May River in 3 sets, with scores of 11-25, 17-25 and 8-25. The team was defeated by Bluffton with scores of 17-25, 31-25 and 17-25.

“When we face these teams again, I’m sure of a different result. We are very capable of hanging with these teams, as well as beating them. We had an off week doing the basics of passing and playing defense,” stated head Coach Hannah Perritte.

The Cougars were led offensively this week by Carlie Erwin with 20 kills. Hannah Bunton recorded 11 blocks, and Ashlyn Sarvis earned herself 37 assists. Bailey Cox recorded 16 digs, while Jordan Slocum recorded 15 digs.

The Cougars are scheduled to play at home against Lucy Beckman on Tuesday and Lake Marion on Wednesday. On Thursday, they will travel to James Island.

The team will play Barnwell on Wednesday, October 5th and travel to Hilton Head on October 4th. They’ll make their way to Bluffton on October 6th.
