Colleton County Superintendent Dr. Vallerie Cave dismissed Head Football Coach Kris Howell that he was being dismissed as the coach at Colleton County High School. Athletic Director Wayne Alston had no comment on the firing, instead referring all questions to the school district central office.

Howell had just finished his second year as head coach at CCHS, finishing with a disappointing record of 1-9 overall record and an 0-5 region record. The first year of his tenure was interrupted by COVID and the team could only play five games. Howell finished with an overall record of 1-15. He previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Cougars for four years under Coach Peeler.

With Howell’s dismissal, Colleton County has now had four head coaches in the last 10 years with an overall 10-year record of 32-84.
