The CCHS (Colleton County High School) boys’ basketball team managed to get their first region win of the year against Hilton Head 51-46. The boys dropped a close contest to James Island earlier in the week 60-51. Against James Island, the Cougars only trailed by seven at half-time; however, low scoring in the third quarter allowed James Island to hold off the Cougars in the fourth quarter. After this week’s results, the Cougars’ record now stands at 7-13 overall and 1-6 in region play.
The CCHS girls dropped a pair of games last week to James Island 38-19 and 41-34 against Hilton Head. The Cougars would trail at half-time 19-12 against Hilton Head. They closed to deficit to two, 27-25 to start the fourth quarter, but the Seahawks would outscore the Cougars 14-9 in the final period to secure the win.
The Lady Cougars’ record now stands 4-16 overall and 1-6 in region play.
