Colleton Prep Academy recently announced Coach Packy Burke will take over the Lady Hawk Volleyball Program this fall. Burke will replace Coach Ashley Finney, who resigned from coaching after leading one of the most successful programs in recent history.

Finney recorded an 11-5 (5-5 in SCISA Region I-AA) finish in 2019 and went 2-2 in the SCISA State Volleyball Playoffs. In 2018, the team finished 19-2 overall and went undefeated in SCISA Class I-A.

“The Colleton Prep Athletic Department is excited to announce Packy Burke has been named the new head coach of the Lady War Hawks Volleyball program,” said Greg Langdale, CPA athletic director. “Coach Burke will head up the varsity and JV teams.”

Coach Burke is a long-standing wrestling and soccer coach in the community, having coached at both Colleton County High School and currently at CPA. “I am looking forward to the season and continuing the winning foundation set by Coach Finney,” said Burke. “I have watched volleyball from the sidelines for years, with both CPA and CCHS. When the opportunity opened, I thought it would be a good experience to coach such an awesome sport.”

Currently, CPA has suspended all athletic activities until July 19 due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases.
