RUFFIN – Mrs. Gail Breland Bryan, 73, of Ruffin, entered into rest Thursday, February 19, 2026, at her residence. She was the loving wife of thirty-nine years to the late Mr. James H. “Jimmy” Bryan, Sr. Born October 5, 1952, in Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late James Harris Breland, Sr. and the late Jessie Lee Polk Breland. Gail was a well-known bank teller throughout Walterboro, having worked at several area banks. She was a member of Evergreen Christian Church in Walterboro and will always be remembered for the love she had for her grandchildren and for always centering her life around her family. Surviving are: a son, James Harold “Jim” Bryan, Jr. and his wife Ashley of Walterboro; a daughter, Connie Lynn Smoak Gugel and her husband Donald of Charleston; two sisters, Joye B. Bryan (David) of Ruffin and Peggy Whetstone of Branchville; a brother, James Breland, Jr. of Walterboro; five grandchildren, Ethan Bryan (Amber), Payton Bryan (Mackenzie), Noah Bryan, Abbey Gail Gugel and Maxwell Gugel. Funeral services were held 11 o’clock Thursday morning, February 26, 2026, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery on Bells Highway in Walterboro. Arrangements By: The Brice W.
