The Colleton Soil & Water Conservation District is sponsoring its Annual Poster and Essay Contest for students in public, private, and home schools in Colleton County.
“From Source to Sea: Every Drop Has a Journey”
This topic offers students an opportunity to discover the incredible path water takes through the water cycle and the landscape. Water is constantly moving from mountain streams and rivers to wetlands, lakes, estuaries, and ultimately ends in the ocean. Along water's journey, it supports forests, farms, grasslands, wildlife, and communities.
No matter where you call home, water connects us all, and every action we take to protect and manage water shapes its journey. Water is one of our most valuable natural resources.
The Poster Contest is for students in Special Education and Grades K-5. The topic for the contest is “From Source to Sea: Every Drop Has a Journey”. The Poster Contest is a class project with winners at each grade level receiving a cash award for their class.
The Essay Contest is for students in grades 6-8. The topic for the contest is “From Source to Sea: Every Drop Has a Journey”. The Essay Contest is an individual project with winners at each grade level receiving First Place, Second Place, and Third Place Awards.
