The Edisto Chamber and the Edisto Beach State Park are collaborating to host TurtleFest 2023, which began June 3. The event marks the start of nesting season for sea turtles in South Carolina. The State Park will host events will take place at both at both Edisto locations.
The Edisto Chamber hosted the 2nd annual Turtle Tide Project Art Reveal the Edisto Beach Civic Center. Ten life-sized turtle sculptures painted by various area artists were revealed. After the reveal, the sculptures will be displayed throughout Edisto for the duration of Turtle season which ends in October. An auction will be held in October, and the proceeds go towards local non-profits.
