The Edisto Beach Billfish Tournament as the final stop of the South Carolina Governor’s Cup Billfishing Series came to an end July 22, 2023 at The Marina at Edisto Beach. Boats went out at 8:00 a.m. and came back a little late for weigh-in due to somewhat rough ocean waters. As the parade of fishing boats made their way back anticipation flowed through the crowd of good-natured revelers. Huge fishing boats up to 62 feet long cut through the waters and were expertly piloted to the docks for the weigh-in to begin.
All at The Governor’s Cup are proud to announce the Trash Man as the unofficial winner of the 35th Anniversary South Carolina Governor’s Cup Billfishing Series after releasing 8 blue marlin and 11 sailfish. All results will be reviewed and considered for approval by the Governor Cup’s Advisory Board of Directors at a later date. Congratulations to Captain Geno Sauers, Ben Wall, and the rest of Trash Man team.
Captain Chris Kubick and Sweet Spot have won the Edisto Invitation Billfish Tournament after releasing 1 blue marlin and 11 sailfish.
