The Walterboro Lions Club awarded the one thousand dollar 2026 scholarships to Chadsity Mitchell and Jordyn Way. The scholarship recipients attended the June 10th Lions Club meeting along with their parents, Chad and Virginia Mitchell of Cottageville and Ralph and Jennifer Way of Walterboro. The students were 2026 graduates of Colleton County High School. Lion Mike Kuszmaul, a member of the scholarship committee, told the audience that, “Although both were top academic students, the Lions Scholarship does not emphasize academics but rather the candidate’s service to others and their potential future service to the community.” The Scholarship recipients are continuing their education with plans to have careers in health services.
