Applications for the South Carolina State Fair “Ride of Your Life Scholarship” opened February 1, 2026.
A total of $540,000 in scholarships will be awarded to high school senior applicants across South Carolina. In 2026, 54 scholarships will be awarded surpassing the 50 awarded in 2025. Each scholarship awarded will be in the amount of $10,000.
Per the South Carolina State Fair, the requirements are as follows:

“The scholarships must be used at a public or private South Carolina college, university, or technical college and may cover tuition or other educational expenses like on-campus housing, a computer, or textbooks.
Recipients must retain a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and enroll in no less than 30 credit hours each academic year to receive funding for that year.
In 2026, 54 high school seniors will each receive a $10,000 scholarship, paid out at $2,500 per year over four years. Students pursuing two-year degrees will receive $2,500 per year for two years.
Scholarship funds may be used at any South Carolina university, college or institution and may cover tuition or other educational expenses, including on-campus housing, textbooks or a computer.
Awards are based on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, communication skills, financial need and completeness of the application. Recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and enroll in at least 30 credit hours each academic year to receive funding for that year.
