Sixth Street Fire Damage Home

Posted

A March 29th structure fire on Sixth Street damaged a Colleton County home. The resident was awakened by smoke and discovered the room was on fire. She grabbed an infant from a crib and exited the burning building to call 911. Colleton County Fire-Rescue arrived to find smoke coming from the front door of the singlewide mobile home. Firefighter-Paramedics quickly extinguished the fire, containing the majority of the damage to the bedroom. The remainder of the home suffered smoke damage, but most personal items were saved. The two occupants were not injured. It appeared the fire started from a space heater that ignited nearby clothing.
