Thirty years ago, the Elliott sisters of the Jonesville Community in Yemassee, SC began what became an annual vacation together. The idea was initiated by our sister, Geneva “Toogie” Kinsey who is sadly no longer with us. Each year after the Christmas holiday, we come together to discuss and decide the dates and location of our next trip destination.
We reserve a 7 passenger van and book lodging accommodations, then in the spring we meet at the family’s property, load our luggage, and off we go! Over the years, we have visited multiple states with a few on repeat but different cities. This year we decided upon the beautiful Lowcountry and made Hilton Head Island our choice.
Sisterhood, quality time, travel experience, and the love of family are the reasons that inspire us to keep this wonderful tradition going.
