The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office continues its communitywide anti-litter campaign, just in time for the holidays.

The agency’s “Love Where You Live” anti-litter efforts have been going on throughout 2021 and consist of the agency working with other anti-litter programs in Colleton to help coordinate litter pickup days.

The programs use volunteers from across the county to remove litter alongside busy roads and highways in Colleton County. The Sheriff’s Office also coordinates with other groups, including Keep Walterboro Beautiful and Keep Colleton Beautiful.

On Nov. 20th, volunteers are asked to arrive at 8 a.m. at Lowcountry Marine to begin cleaning Robertson Boulevard. The litter pickup will last until 11 a.m.

According to Shalane Lowes, spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office, everything will be provided to volunteers, including safety vests and gloves. Litter-grabbers, however, are handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Anyone interested in helping to clean up Robertson Boulevard should arrive by 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20th. For more information, contact Lowes at slowes@colletoncounty.org
