Not only did Charlie Walker pitch a perfect game March 21 in Colleton Middle School’s matchup against Beaufort Middle School, he also struck out nine batters in the process in a 17-0 drubbing.

The game was over by the first inning, when the Cougars crossed home plate 11 times on eight hits. Another six were added by the time the game concluded.

The “big guns” were provided by Michael Witkin, Mari Brown, Mason Owens, Jacob Singleton, Galil Frazier, and Trip Norris; the latter went three for three.

The game was also marked with 22 bases stolen, with six runners stealing more than once; Nathan Hunt stole four.

The team is currently 3-0.
