The Lowcountry Field of Dreams will host their annual banquet on August 6, 2022 at the Berkeley Shrine Club in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy dinner and an open bar while taking part in games, raffles, and a live auction. Raffle and auction items include over thirty guns and a registered chocolate lab puppy, among other items.

Proceeds from the banquet will go toward the organization’s yearly youth deer hunt that will be held the first weekend of October. The chapter purchases hunting apparel, game calls, and other supplies for the participating children, as well as provides three meals a day for families throughout the duration of the event.

For nineteen years Lowcountry Field of Dreams has provided children with terminal illnesses, challenging home lives, and other less fortunate situations with the opportunity to escape their reality and enjoy the outdoors. The weekend begins on Friday with hunter education and firearm safety lessons, followed by target practice. The children then take to the woods with volunteer guides on Friday and Saturday afternoon, as well as Saturday and Sunday morning. They’re given the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the hunt, from harvest to processing. While not in the field, kids are able to enjoy each other’s company while taking part in various games and activities. “This is a bonding and healing experience for both the children and their parents,” chapter president Billy Wayne Chambers says.

Tickets for the banquet are $45 for individuals and $70 for couples. There are also various sponsorship opportunities.
