Colleton County Memorial Library held a food drive to help fill food pantry shelves in Colleton County, and the community really stepped up! To help combat food insecurity in our community, the library offered fine forgiveness in exchange for food donations from November 10th through November 21st. During that short two-week period, patrons of the library brought in donations by the box full! In total, the library collected 369 food items as well as some cash donations. The donations were delivered to the food pantry at Mt. Olive Baptist Church and were received by church secretary Pearline Francis. The library would like to thank everyone who donated, as well as everyone who shared our flyers and spread the message. This Thanksgiving holiday, we are grateful to live in such a generous and giving community!
