The geopolitical thrust of the past 500 years has centered around the acquisition of natural resources, nations monetary policies, and the control of oil.
In my opinion, my guesstimate is that America will lose the South American continent as a substantial trading partner.
The Chinese have recently built a $3.6 billion shipping port in Peru to increase products trade with South America.
This guesstimate trading prediction will translate into the American federal budget and its deficit. According to the Congressional Budget office (CBO), by 2035 the federal debt is projected to be $59.2 Trillion dollars (134.8 % of annual GDP). The current federal budget deficit is $36.2 Trillion dollars (123 % of annual GDP) (Report from the House Budget Committee, January 2025). In my opinion, if the United States government alienates the South American nation of Venezuela, it will probably seek membership in the BRICS nations, the world’s largest products trading organization. Venezuela has the world’s largest proven oil reserves; more than 5 times that of the U.S. Oil is needed to produce American products to trade with other countries. Trade is known as GDP, Gross Domestic Product. The American economy is MEASURED in products produced by each household.
