Jonathan Malcolm Sanders, 48, of Ehrhardt, entered into rest Tuesday evening, November 30, 2021, at his residence.

Born March 31, 1973, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was a son of John Franklin Sanders and Ginger Kinard Sanders.   He was originally a part of the founding family members of the well-known Kinard Wood Preserving in Ehrhardt which he comprised the company’s third generation of service.   Jonathan was never a sedentary person and was always thinking of new ideas and did not stop until those dreams became a reality.   He believed that if your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then, you are an excellent leader – and truly he was an excellent leader.  He founded New Dimensions Forest Products in Ehrhardt and will forever be remembered for his strong work ethic and devotion to hard work.   Generous in spirit and always devoted to helping others, he was passionate about his wife, children, and family.  Over the years, many became family to him and he loved them all just as equally. 

Jonathan was a true outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially saltwater offshore fishing.  He in enjoyed model planes and was truly a master carpenter – creating many beautiful and treasured pieces.  He was a member of Ashton Baptist Church where he was a part of the Men’s Ministry and had served on the Deacon Board.  Jonathan will forever live in the hearts of those that knew him.  He established for his children a great a powerful legacy for them to uphold.  His work, and his always productive attitude, and his ability to start something from nothing will never be forgotten.  

Surviving are: his wife of twenty-five years, Mrs. Catherine Jones Sanders; his parents of Edisto Beach; and two children, Michael Ashton Sanders who is at Clemson University and Naomi Elizabeth Sanders of the home; and a brother, Joshua Scott Sanders and his wife Meghan of Lexington and their two sons, Jonah and Quinn.  He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Vernon and Lois Jones of Islandton; and a brother-in-law, Allen Jones of Orangeburg and his children, Hunter, Lance, and Allison; as well as a beloved host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, all to numerous to list but all dearly loved in his heart.   He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Johnnie Sanders and Douglas and Eula Kinard. 

A celebration of his life will be conducted 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon, December 4, 2021, from Ashton Baptist Church, 5156 Willow Swamp Road, Islandton.   The Reverend Chase McRae, The Reverend Danny Fogle, and The Reverend Gordon Ackerman officiating.   The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony at the church.
