An adult male was killed when his bicycle was struck from behind by a passenger car Bells Hwy west of Stephens Crossroads Wednesday afternoon April 3 around 3:03pm. A witness to the incident told 911 a small dark colored car struck a bicyclist. The male bike rider was thrown into the ditch and the car did not stop to render aid. Firefighter-Paramedics from Colleton County Fire-Rescue arrived minutes later, but the man had no signs of life. The Coroner’s Office was requested and responded to the scene. The SC Highway Patrol and their MAIT Team are investigating the accident and are looking for a 2014-2020 Nissan Rogue. The car is dark brown and should have damage to the right front and the passenger side mirror. The Colleton County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the incident.
