Heat and humidity are scheduled to hit the Lowcountry by the end of the week due to high pressure that will build across the Gulf Coast. The largest increase will occur Friday with highs in the mid 90’s, and the heat index will be near 110 degrees. The heat and humidity combination will most likely continue through the weekend with only some storms and a few showers to cool things down. “First Alert Weather Days may be issued soon for the end of the week when heat advisories are likely to be issued for the area”.
