The weather could not have been better as Friends of the Colleton County Animal Shelter (FoCCAS) held its 13th Annual Walk and Wag on Sunday, October 18th. The event included raffles, a dog walk, plenty to eat, including hot dogs, plentiful desserts, and the annual pot of purlo rice, which was, as always, a crowd favorite.
Pelican’s Snowballs Frozen Treats was on hand to provide snow cones for everyone, including the pets. The goal of the Walk and Wag is to raise awareness of the importance of responsible pet ownership and provide a fun community event to encourage exercise for pets and people. FoCCAS is a 501(c)(3) that strives to make Colleton County a better place for both people and pets. Their primary initiatives are community spay/neuter programs, adoption/rescue initiatives to get pets out of the shelter and into loving homes. They also educate the public about responsible pet ownership.
