Boy Scout Troop 646 welcomed two new Eagle Scouts, Jonah Ozious Givens and Howard Jasper Lambert, on September 20, 2025. The ceremony held at Ashton Baptist Church and was hosted by Mr. TJ Godly. The invocation was given by the Rev. Dr. Chase McRae. The ceremony spotlighted the Eagle Scout Projects, Givens Ferry Duck Boxes, and the ABC Outdoor Area, built by the new Eagle Scouts. The Eagle Scout Oath was given by Mr. Noah Givens.

The Eagle Pinning Ceremony honored Jonah Givens with his parents, Joe and Denise Givens pinning Jonah and Raymond and Kim Lambert pinning Howard Lambert.

Jonah’s bio says his favorite part of scouting is his time at summer camp. He prefers hands-on, outdoor merit badges, including the Complete Angler Award and the National Outdoor Award for Camping. His older brother earned his Eagle in 2020, and his younger brothers are also in scouting.

Howard has completed many scout service projects such as cleaning roads and picking up trash at the Rice Festival. His favorite merit badge was the shotgun merit badge, and he loves fishing and working on vehicles with his buddies. He will graduate in 2026.

The ceremony also gave out some special awards including the American Legion Award, Marine Corps League, the Order of St. George, a letter from Mike Rowe, and Baptists for Scouting. Givens and Lambert both gave speeches celebrating their accomplishments and thanking their supporters along their way.
