A small child was seriously injured in a four-wheeler accident Thursday afternoon Oct. 27.
A parent brought the child to meet with firefighter-paramedics near the intersection of Cottageville Hwy. (U.S. Hwy. 17-A) and Rehoboth Road (S.C. Hwy. 651). The accident possibly occurred near Rhode Drive north of Cottageville.
Medic 9’s crew quickly evaluated and treated the child and requested a medical helicopter. She was transported to a field next to Cottageville Elementary School to meet with CARE Flight.
The patient was flown to the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston.
