A barn was destroyed in an evening fire in the 9500 block of Sidneys Road Tuesday April 2, 2024. A neighbor notified 9-1-1 of the fire. They advised they could see the flames through the woods. Engine 36 arrived minutes later and advised the block building was fully involved and the roof had already collapsed. The block building was located about 700 feet off the road and inaccessible to vehicles. The fire had burned into the nearby woods. A Forestry tractor was requested and responded. A vehicle inside the barn was also destroyed. Units were on the scene for several hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
