The LaTrice D. Ferguson Healthcare Institute held its Graduation on June 27th at the Colleton Civic Center. The 3-hour commencement at the Colleton Civic Center Auditorium was full of proud friends, parents, spouses, and children as they watched their loved one’s graduate. After a welcome from Walterboro Mayor James Broaderick, the graduating classes of more than 30 students, included Nursing Assistants, EKG, Basic Phlebotomy, Phlebotomy, Clinical Medical Assistant Medication Technician, and Healthcare Specialists. Highlights of the event included an address on the history of the school, which is celebrating its 10-year anniversary, from teacher and board member Anna Bright and the keynote speaker Margaret Morgan, RN, MSN. The ceremonies included reflections from parents and students as well as an interpretive dance. The graduates received their awards and certificates and participated in their Pinning Ceremony.
