A northbound passenger car left the roadway and struck the ditch bank, then flipped over several times on SC Hwy 61 Thursday morning November 23.
An adult female passenger was seriously injured in a single vehicle, high speed accident. Firefighter-Paramedics treated her at the scene for multiple serious injuries and called for a medical helicopter. Meducare responded to a field next to the accident site. The patient was transferred to the flight crew without incident and flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The driver of the vehicle received non-life-threatening injuries and denied ambulance transport. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
