Farm Bureau Insurance® and Colleton County Farm Bureau Spread Holiday Cheer
Colleton County Farm Bureau and local Farm Bureau Insurance agents are bringing a little more joy to this holiday season by helping those in the community facing financial or medical hardships.
The local office donated $1,000 to Charlie Delong, who is battling throat cancer and is unable to speak, requiring him to write everything down to communicate. The donation will assist with Delong’s medical bills since he is unable to work and is still undergoing cancer treatments.
“Colleton County Farm Bureau and Farm Bureau Insurance are proud to offer this donation to Charlie, who is facing significant medical expenses,” Wayne McKenzie, Farm Bureau Insurance agency manager, said. “He has been a long-time Farm Bureau member since 1993, and we hope this donation helps ease some of the financial burden associated with his cancer treatment.”
The donation is part of a company-sponsored holiday community outreach program called Farm Bureau Cares. Through Farm Bureau Cares, county Farm Bureau offices across South Carolina provide a monetary donation during December to help a family or charity of their choice. Farm Bureau Insurance matches each donation made by the local County Farm Bureau and agents.
Farm Bureau Cares donated more than $49,000 statewide to assist charities and countless individuals this holiday season.
