Man threatens to shoot customers

An employee of Dollar General in Jacksonboro reported a person yelling and threatening people at the store on Nov. 29.

Deputies responding were told the subject brandished a handgun while in the parking lot and threatened to shoot the people at the store.

However, the employee refused to give a complete voluntary statement because, deputies reported, she did not want to come to court.

A second employee said she saw the suspect create a disturbance in the store, but did not see him with the handgun.

The case was recommended closed because of lack of cooperation of the victim.

Church gate stolen

A caller reported a gate at Mt. Carmel U.M. Church, 5277 Mt. Carmel Rd., had disappeared.

The church member said the gate was there on Sunday Nov. 24, but when the church member arrived at Nov. 30, the gate was gone.

Bayonets on Orchid Court?

A resident of Orchid Court called deputies to remove a man knocking on his door.

The deputies found the man knocking on a neighbor’s home and he reportedly told deputies three men with long rifles with bayonets had been chasing him through the woods. None of the residents of Orchid Court reported seeing any pursuers. Once in the deputy’s vehicle, the suspect allegedly admitted to eating methamphetamine.

After being transported to the jail for disturbing the peace, the suspect reported knee and chest pain. He was taken to Colleton Medical Center, then returned to jail.

Burglaries at Rising Stage Lane

An unknown suspect forced entry through the front door of a fishing cottage at 192 Rising Stage Ln. on Dec. 3.

Three other residences in the area were also reported broken into.

Nothing was reported stolen.

At 188 Rising Stage Lane on Dec. 3, deputies found the hunting house’s living room window broken and the front bedroom door open. The home owner checked her neighbors’ homes and reported someone had broken into those homes as well.

Again, nothing was discovered missing.

Unfamiliar feces found

A Possum Corner Road resident called deputies after he found “an unfamiliar pile of animal feces” on the steps of his home. He said he didn’t have an animal that would produce these droppings and had not seen anyone or anything strange around his home.

He was told to contact deputies if he got any more information.
