Three people were injured on Cottageville Hwy Saturday afternoon August 24th. The SUV left the roadway and flipped over three times, trapping the occupants. Two adult females received multiple traumatic injuries. A 1-year-old male, who was safely secured in a child seat, received only minor injuries. The driver may have suffered a medical emergency just prior to the crash. Colleton County Firefighter-Paramedics found the car upright, well off the road. Crews extricate the two females with one additional Fire-Rescue ambulance called. Both adults were transported to the Trauma Center at MUSC, and the child was transported to Shawn Jenkins Children’s Trauma Center at MUSC. Traffic in the area was blocked for about an hour. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the MVC.
