The CCHS Male Student-Athlete of the Month is Colson Varnadoe, who was nominated by Varsity Soccer Coach Brian Reid. "Colson is a leader on and off the field. He currently has signed to play college soccer for Chowan University. Colson is team captain and is highly ranked in the Senior class. He is also involved in several organizations in school such as Student Government and NHS. He is an incredible individual, one we wish all students strived to be!"
The CCHS Female Student-Athlete of the Month is McKenzie Cochran, who was nominated by JV Softball Coach Ta'Shauna Chisolm. "I'm nominating McKenzie Cochran because she is always a leader. Her attitude goes beyond measure. McKenzie gives great work ethic on and off the field. She excels in the classroom, holding a GPA of 3.8. She is what I can say to be the most humble and respectful player on and off the field."
The CCMS Male Student-Athlete of the Month is Sam Witkin, who plays for the Colleton County Middle School Baseball Team. "Sam is hard-working and always has a great attitude! He is incredibly respectful to adults, teammates, and even opponents. He shows the same discipline and work ethic in the classroom, maintaining straight A's in all of his courses. He is the exemplary student-athlete and represents the program well."
The CCMS Female Student-Athlete of the Month is Kennedy Graham, who was nominated by CCMS Softball Head Coach Janice Wright. "Kennedy is an honor student at CCMS. She works hard and wants to do well in class and beyond. She doesn't hesitate to ask for assistance when needed. I've observed her ask her peers and forego leisure time to work on concepts she may have found challenging. It's obvious Kennedy understands and values her education. On a daily basis, Kennedy carries herself with poise. She truly exemplifies what it means to be a student athlete. She showed this same example on the ball field, and I am truly glad to be able to coach this young lady and for her to represent the Colleton County Middle School Softball Team."
