Order of the Palmetto Award presented
On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, J. Barnwell Fishburne was presented with the Order of the Palmetto by South Carolina Governor McMaster. Mr. Fishburne served honorably on the South Carolina Department of Transportation Commission representing the Sixth Congressional District from 2018 to 2025 and currently serves on the South Carolina Port Authority’s Board of Directors. He received the Order of the Palmetto in recognition of his many years of service to the State of South Carolina, including having served in important leadership positions on the Colleton County Planning Commission, Colleton Medical Center Board of Trustees, Colleton County Industrial Development Board, and as a Board Advisor to Southern Carolina Regional Development Alliance.
